Aglow
A 5-Week Journey From Restless Craving to Vibrant Aliveness
October 28 - November 25, 2025
4-5pm EST (1-2pm PST)
What if there was a way to ease your anxiety, find clarity in your decision making and a wellspring of energy to light up your life?
We humans are wired to want. A better job, a loving partner, a vacation, a new home—on and on it goes. Getting what we want feels amazing…until it doesn’t. The job brings new stress, the relationship loses its spark, the house fades into the everyday. Soon we’re back on the treadmill of craving and disappointment.
We often try to fight desire—through budgeting, dieting, self-discipline, or telling ourselves to “just be grateful.” But repressing it leaves us depleted, while indulging it leaves us guilty. Either way, desire drags us in circles.
This course offers another way. Instead of running from desire or being consumed by it, we learn to slow down and listen to it. Desire, rather than being a flaw, can become a profound teacher—an energizing, creative force that connects us to joy, clarity, and purpose. By shifting our relationship to wanting, we discover how to let desire light us up from the inside out and guide us toward a more fulfilling life.
This 5-week course is an invitation to reignite the spark that makes you feel truly alive.
Together, we will help you work directly with your desires—not just sexual desires, but all of them. Desire is not a problem to fix or a hunger to endlessly chase. It’s the very energy that can turn life from dull to radiant, from overwhelming to alive. When you learn to feel and honor your desires from the inside out, you stop running on empty and start glowing with vitality, joy, and freedom.
Through meditation and other exercises that dig beneath the surface of daily living, we will explore desire and its capacity to stir us into greater connection with joy and creativity.
Each weekly live Zoom class will start with a meditation, explore the key concepts and practices, and have space for discussion and direct infusion of what we are learning into your daily life.
Course materials include guided meditations, journaling prompts and exercises corresponding to each week's material, as well as a Whatsapp group to share inspirations, questions, and reflections on the week of practice.
Discover the transformative power of desire with Aglow!
Weekly Journey
Week 1 – Get Your Hopes Up
See how fear of disappointment keeps you bracing against your own longings.
Practice opening to desire without collapsing into cynicism or fear.
Practice: Meditation on fear & hope; journaling “What would I want if I stopped bracing for disappointment?”
Week 2 – Be Selfish: It’s The Most Generous Thing You Can Do
Why repressing your desires leads to anxiety, resentment, and burnout.
Learn to honor your wants—even if they seem selfish—so you can give from abundance instead of depletion.
Practice: Meet your “Angel of the House” (the inner voice that insists on being good); self-care inventory.
Week 3 – Let Go of the Banana: Release the Objects of Desire
Understand why no object—job, partner, number on the scale—can bring lasting satisfaction.
Learn to release the outcome and turn toward the raw sensation of longing.
Practice: Monkey trap meditation; journaling about the “princess” you’ve been waiting for; RAIN method for craving.
Week 4 – Become a Pleasure Detective
Discover that desire isn’t just about lack—it’s also about aliveness.
Find what “turns you on” in everyday life and trace how wanting can be energizing, playful, and joyful.
Practice: Journaling “what turns me on/off,” sensory-soak meditation, tracking daily sparks of pleasure.
Week 5 – Satisfaction from the Inside Out
Learn to validate yourself with the very words you long to hear from others.
Build the inner receptacle that allows you to actually feel full, satisfied, and alive.
Practice: Self-validation meditation; journaling future-self embodiment; create a personal practice plan for sustaining aliveness.
Who This Is For
This course is for people who are tired of the stress of being caught in the cycle of craving and who are curious about another way. This course is geared towards those who are ready to establish (or deepen) a daily meditation practice and not for those with no familiarity with meditation whatsoever.
Together, we’ll make desire your teacher and your guide. You’ll leave with practices to help you feel more alive, awake, and aglow—in your relationships, your work, and your everyday life.
About your teacher
Hi! My name is Yael Shy, I’m an award-winning author and CEO of the industry-leading Mindfulness Consulting. I have been featured on Good Morning America, CBS News and in Time Magazine and the Harvard Business Review. In addition to my workshops and individual clients, I consult for major corporations and universities, including Proctor and Gamble, Columbia University, and NYU. Deeply passionate about the transformative power of mindfulness, I have over 20 years of practice experience in Zen, Jewish, and secular meditation contexts.
Why I do this:
My life has been transformed by learning to work with my desire. For a very long time, I thought that my wants made me “difficulty,” “whiny,” and “impossible to please.” I thought something was deeply wrong with me because I never wanted the things that I had, and never stopped wanting things I didn’t have. I just wanted an escape hatch from my wanting.
Fortunately, I discovered the ways that tapping into desire leads to deep satisfaction, joy, and a renewed life force. I’ve learned that clinging to things is different than letting longing wash over me. I’ve learned how the keys to setting my life aglow were inside me all along.
I am beyond excited to share some of these learnings and practices with you.
